Terry M. Williams, M.D.
Terry Williams is the father of four and grandfather of nine, recently retired from a 32-year practice of Emergency Medicine in California. He is the author of several medical papers and Emergency Medicine textbook chapters.
In addition to his full-time medical work in California, he has treated patients in Guatemala, Saudi Arabia, on cruise ships around the world, in Northern India, Thailand, and the highlands of Papua New Guinea. He is also a whitewater kayaker and climber with summits of Sierra 14ers, several of the Cascade volcanoes, and two of the Seven Summits (Aconcagua and Kilimanjaro).
Terry has served as expedition doctor on climbs, whitewater runs and in wilderness/primitive settings. He serves on the board of an international missions/humanitarian organization, Global Fellowship, and now resides in northern San Diego County with his wife of 44 years. He also serves as a medical team manager on San Diego’s Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team, California Task Force 8. He is currently working on a new book on his adventures and career in Emergency Medicine.
